FRiday Reports
This afternoon we all went to the Sherman Lake YMCA (see pictures below). It was great to see all of the kids (and Mrs Wilga) have fun. Today was the first time the kids were able to participate in a yoga session. I hear that it's harder than it looks :)
Progress reports were given to students today. Don't be alarmed if your child's doesn't look as normal. Many of us went to clean up the Richland Cemetery on Wednesday in addition we had a half day yesterday. Next week we have an early release on Wednesday and students are dismissed at 12:50. Also on Wednesday, students that missed taking the WorkKeys test will be retaking it on that day. Don't forget that graduation is June 1, 7:00pm. It will be a great night. Check out our website for more information and pictures of our latest activities.

SAT, PSAT, Work Keys, and MME testing is done!! Now we can get back to normal.
This Thursday is a half day and students are dismissed at 10:45. Students that would like to stay until 2:00 are welcome to but will need to provide their own transportation and lunch. We will have end of the year conferences in May that will determine placement for next year. These conferences will be the first week of May and I will send a link in April so that you can sign up. All students who wish to return MUST reenroll each year and meet qualifications. Remember that graduation is June 1st, at the Gull Lake Middle School, 7pm. Rehearsal is the day before (at the middle school) at 2:30. Students will be given caps and gowns at that time. Students will be responsible for their own transportation home. I still need baby pictures from a few students and would like to have them at the beginning of next week. Please invite as many family and friends as you would like...the more the merrier!!! We are offering Saturday school tomorrow, 9-12, if we have four students who will commit by 2:00 today to come. Currently, we do not have any interest. We will offer Saturday schools on April 16, 23, 30 and May 6 if we have enough students signed up. As the weather becomes warmer it's normal for students to lighter weight clothing....which is fine as long as they are dressed appropriately for school. This means straps must be at least two fingers wide and shorts needs to be fingertip length. As a mom of girls, I understand how difficult it is to find appropriate clothing that doesn't look like "something moms would wear". We will use the air conditioner but I cannot please everyone and some kids will be hot while others complain they are cold. It would be prudent for student to dress in layers or bring a blanket on the days they might get cold. Progress reports were sent home today. Mrs. Palmatier's last official day is Monday. She will be here off and on as she is able. The students have been extremely supportive by making meals, writing cards, and giving gifts. I am proud of the way they have rallied around her. The school will not be the same without her, and I will have a heavy heart when I no longer will see her on a daily basis. If any of you would like to send a note of encouragement, the school address is 11775 East D Ave, Richland 49083 or email [email protected] I hope you all have a great weekend....it looks like a few days of great weather! Please continue to encourage your child to stay focused and get work done. |
