Gull Lake Gateway Academy's fish are now hatched and swimming! The salmon are now 12 weeds old and are in the swim up fry stage. The fish will feed every half hour so they are keeping the students busy. This is a very critical time period because the fish are now learning to eat artificial food and have to get all the nutrients out of the food to be healthy. The students here at Gateway are not just feeding the fish, they are keeping the water chemically balanced. Uneaten food can make the water foul. We only feed them enough for it all to be eaten at once, if all the food is not eaten the food will cloud up the water and make it more difficult to take care of the salmon.
