FRiday Reports
Progress reports will not be sent home today due to a snow day on Tuesday and Edgeunity being down yesterday.
Next week, art class starts again. Students who need fine art credit to graduate have the option of taking their classes online or participating in a hands on class. If you look around our building, you will see many of the projects that have been completed. We are extremely fortunate that Education for the Arts and the Gull Lake Community Foundation make this possible for students. On Wednesday, students will be attending a performance at Miller Auditorium. We are leaving Gateway at 9:15 and returning at 11:30. Parents are welcome to attend. This event is free. One week from today, four students will be volunteering at the Richland Area Community Center, helping those who need assistance using electronic devises. This is our first time volunteering at the RACC and we are looking forward to this being the beginning of a great partnership. Two weeks from today, the entire school will be visiting the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills. We are leaving at 7:40 SHARP and anyone who arrives late will be left behind. There will not be any teachers in the building as this event is for all students, so students arriving late will be sent home. Unfortunately, we cannot leave later than 7:40 due to the distance we need to travel. Please make sure your child is at school on time! Admission cost is $3 and students need to give me their money before we leave. Parents are welcome to attend. We can order lunch from food services for guests if I know before hand that you will be attending with us. Students will order their food earlier that week. I will be having conferences the first week of February. I will send a link on Monday so you can sign up. If the days/times offered do not fit into your schedule, you can always request a phone conference. If you do not want a conference, please write your child's name in the "decline" section. If you've spoken or met with me recently and you would like to meet later in the year, please let me know. Remember that June 1st, 7:00pm is our graduation ceremony. Graduation fees are $55.00 and checks can be made out to GLCS. Students are expected and encouraged to walk! Have a great weekend.
